Spare Parts for the UltraLite Cot (24" wide version)
1) SPARES?? We don't include extra parts nor do we have any standard kit of spare parts because you really don't need them. More parts = more weight to carry. Products that need standard spare parts are poorly designed products. After 7 years of selling the LuxuryLite Cot, we have not had one report of an adventure spoiled by failed or missing cot parts. Customers have spent six months in the African bush, months on the Appalachian Trail, and some are nomads sleeping every night on their LuxuryLite Cot for years. Some trekkers have had to use duct tape, tent stakes, sticks, etc to do field repairs, but still slept good.
2) 4 BOW COT - Look at the picture on the green instruction sheet that comes with the cot showing how to set it up using only 4 bows when you weigh 175lbs or less.
3) 5 BOW COT - Next step up is using 5 bows. At the foot end put one bow in the second hole from the end, like a 4 bow cot, but with the standard two bows at the chest end. (Always use the two twist bows in the middle two locations). That will sleep 300lb just fine. So you can lose/break an entire bow and still sleep great. Built-in spare parts!!
3) USING DAMAGED PARTS - The most common failure is a cracked foot, next is a bent tube. A bow using cracked feet and/or bent tubes works fine under your feet for a 6 bow cot. There is very little stress on the foot end bow.
The UltraLite Cot has a Lifetime Warranty for any owner, not just the original buyer. Send back the broken part and we will repair/replace it at no cost.
